What happens to the information you send us through this website, in plain English.

Needs legal review before launch. This policy was drafted to describe what this website actually does, and it is deliberately narrow and honest. It has not been reviewed by an attorney. Before it is published, an attorney licensed in Florida should review it against the agency’s real data practices, its carrier and vendor agreements, and applicable law, including the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act privacy provisions that apply to insurance producers, Florida insurance regulations, and any state privacy laws that reach the agency’s clients.

What this policy covers

This policy covers information collected through this website by Keith Insurance, an independent insurance agency at 8931 Conference Dr, Suite 4, Fort Myers, FL 33919.

It does not cover information you give us on the telephone, in the office, or on an insurance application, and it does not cover what an insurance carrier does with your information once an application reaches them. Carriers are separate companies with their own privacy notices, and the carrier links on our Customers page take you to their websites.

What we collect

Information you choose to give us

This website asks you for nothing. There is no contact form, no quote request, no application and no login, so there is no page here into which you can type your name, your address or anything about your insurance. That is deliberate.

If you telephone us, reach us through Florida Relay, send a fax or write to the office, we of course receive what you tell us, and we use it to help you. We will ask you for whatever we genuinely need through whichever of those channels suits you.

Information collected automatically

Like almost every website, the servers that deliver these pages create technical logs as a normal part of operating. These typically include the IP address the request came from, the time of the request, which page was requested, and basic browser information. This is standard hosting infrastructure data, used to keep the site running and secure.

Confirm before launch. This site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. The exact log data collected and its retention period are determined by the hosting provider, not by this website’s code. Confirm the current details against the provider’s documentation and data processing terms, and update this section to match.

How we use it

We use what you tell us for one purpose: to respond to you and, if you ask us to, to help with your insurance. That may involve contacting you by the method you chose.

We do not sell your information. We do not rent it. We do not trade it.

Who we share it with

To do the job you have asked us to do, we may need to pass relevant information to insurance carriers so they can quote or issue coverage, and to the service providers who operate the systems we use to run the agency, for example our website host and our email provider. We share what is necessary for that purpose and no more.

We may also disclose information where the law requires it, such as in response to a lawful request from a regulator, a court or law enforcement.

Do not publish until verified. The paragraph above deliberately describes only the categories of recipient that an agency of this type necessarily uses. No specific vendors, marketing partners, data brokers or advertising networks have been listed, because nothing of that kind has been confirmed. Before launch, list the actual categories the agency uses, and if the agency shares information for any purpose beyond servicing the client’s request, that must be disclosed here and may carry opt-out obligations.

Cookies and analytics

As delivered, this website sets no cookies of its own, uses no advertising trackers, and runs no third-party analytics or tag-management scripts. The only external resource the pages load is a web font service, requested by your browser in order to display the typefaces used here.

Revisit if anything is added. If analytics, a chat widget, an advertising pixel, a mapping embed, a quoting tool or a bot-protection service is added later, this section must be rewritten to describe it, the Content-Security-Policy in the _headers file must be widened to permit it, and a consent mechanism may become necessary.

How long we keep it

We keep what you send us for as long as we need it to answer you and to service any policy that results, and after that for as long as insurance and business records are required to be retained. If you wrote to us and then decided not to proceed, you can ask us to delete what you sent.

Set a real number. Insurance agencies are subject to record-retention requirements. Replace the general language above with the agency’s actual retention schedule, confirmed against Florida insurance regulations and the agency’s errors-and-omissions carrier’s requirements.

How we protect it

This website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and it sets security headers intended to reduce common categories of attack. Inside the agency, access to client information is limited to the people who need it to do their work.

We will be straight with you: no method of transmitting information is perfectly secure. That is one of the reasons this website collects nothing, and why anything sensitive is better handled on the telephone than sent to us in writing.

Your choices

  • You never have to type anything into this website. Telephoning the office on 239-482-3040, or reaching us through Florida Relay on 711, works just as well and always will.
  • You can ask what we hold about you. Contact us and we will tell you.
  • You can ask us to correct it or delete it. We will do so where we are not required to keep it.
  • You can ask us to stop contacting you. Tell us and we will stop.

Rights language needs review. Depending on where the agency’s clients live, specific statutory privacy rights and required response timeframes may apply, and the agency may have to describe them and provide a defined request process. An attorney should confirm which apply and how they must be described here.

Children

This website is intended for adults arranging insurance. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children through it. If you believe a child has sent us information through this site, please contact us and we will delete it.

This site links to external websites, including every carrier payment and claims page listed on our Customers page, and our social media profiles. Once you follow a link away from here, you are on someone else’s website, governed by their privacy policy rather than this one.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will change the effective date at the top of the page. If a change is significant, we will say so plainly rather than hoping you do not notice.
